Learning Through Art: When Terra Students Met the Cast of Xanadu
At Terra School, learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom — it happens everywhere imagination takes root.
This October, our elementary, middle, and high school students had the incredible opportunity to spend the morning with the cast and crew of Xanadu: A Roller-Skating Musical Under the Stars. The production, staged at the Art Farm at Serenbe’s Wildflower Meadow, has dazzled audiences with disco-inspired energy and whimsical storytelling.
Upper School students stepped behind the scenes at Art Farm’s “Xanadu,” exploring how creativity, collaboration, and a little disco flair bring art to life under the stars.
The Xanadu team — including director Eric Quang Gelb and members of the world-class cast — joined students for an interactive session exploring how creativity, collaboration, and courage bring stories to life.
From spontaneous theater games to a behind-the-scenes Q&A, students learned that art is more than performance — it’s problem-solving, teamwork, and joy in motion.
Our younger learners met the performers right on campus, while middle and high schoolers visited the Wildflower Meadow tent for a special outdoor performance and discussion. The day was filled with laughter, curiosity, and genuine inspiration — proof that the arts are a vital part of education, not an add-on.
Our elementary learners met the cast of “Xanadu” right here at Terra, discovering the joy of storytelling, music, and imagination in their own backyard.
Terra’s partnership with the Art Farm at Serenbe continues to connect students with professional artists, musicians, and makers who show them that creativity is a lifelong skill. Whether building stage sets, designing projects in STEAM class, or performing in community showcases, our students learn to think critically, express authentically, and collaborate beautifully.
