Back-to-School Updates: New Staff, Campus Improvements, and Community Spirit at Terra

Growing Together: New Faces and Fresh Spaces at Terra

At Terra School at Serenbe, growth is a constant theme—whether it’s our students, our facilities, or our team. As we prepare for the 2025–26 school year, we’re excited to share updates on new staff members, administrative changes, and campus improvements made possible by our incredible community.

Welcoming Our New Faculty and Staff

We’re thrilled to introduce new educators and leaders who bring fresh energy, expertise, and passion to Terra:

Anne Dries – Director of Finance & Business

Anne joins Terra with more than 25 years of experience leading organizations across the arts, education, and business sectors. With an EdD from Vanderbilt, an MBA from Indiana University, and executive education at MIT, Anne’s expertise spans financial management, HR, technology, facilities, and operations. She is a lifelong learner whose boundless curiosity and pragmatic leadership style make her an inspiring addition to our team.

Administrative Reorganization

With Anne leading Terra’s financial operations, Amanda Williams will shift her focus to her role as Director of Human Resources. She will also support as Executive Assistant to the Head of School and continue managing our financial aid program.

In addition to Anne, this summer we added:

  • Two new Montessori community guides

  • A part-time music teacher for Montessori

  • Our first part-time art teacher for Grades 1–12

These educators will deepen collaboration across all levels of the school and enrich the Terra learning experience.

Campus Improvements: Playing Field and High School Updates

Our campus continues to transform!

  • New Playing Field: Fresh sod has been laid, and while it will take a few weeks to root, the field already looks magnificent and inviting. Soon it will be a space for students to play, practice, and gather as a community.

  • High School Studio Refresh: Thanks to the leadership of Elaine Dinos and a dedicated team of volunteers, our high school studios and offices now have a fresh coat of paint.

We are deeply grateful to the families and community members who made this possible:

  • The Dinos, Piper, and Bettis Families

  • Terra parents Rachel Alexander and Jen Band

  • Terra students Aiden Campbell, Phoenix & Sparrow Harris (and their cousin, Cal)

  • Terra Board Chair April Ledom

  • Community supporters Olivia and Freddy

Your time, energy, and care embody the Terra spirit of collaboration.

Back-to-School Prep

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 13, and our faculty and staff are hard at work preparing. Before then, our team will gather for an off-campus retreat on Monday, August 4, followed by an intense schedule of planning sessions back on campus.

We kindly ask families to be mindful of faculty schedules during this preparation time. While we know it’s tempting to stop by and say hello, dedicated times for parents and learners to preview studios have been set to keep planning focused and productive.

Parent Handbook and Orientation

The revised Terra School Parent Handbook (2025–26) is now available in the parent portal. 📄 View the handbook here

Parent Orientations will provide important information for each grade level and are a wonderful opportunity to connect with educators before the school year begins.

Why It Matters

Every update—from new staff and reorganized leadership, to a freshly painted high school and a brand-new playing field—represents Terra’s commitment to growth, community, and excellence. With the support of our families and the dedication of our educators, we’re ready to begin another year of curiosity, independence, and lifelong learning.

Here’s to a joyful and successful 2025–26 school year at Terra!
